All animals at the shelter will be held for seven days as required by
Wisconsin State Statute 173.19. If the animal’s owner does not claim their pet by the date
listed under each description, the animal will be released for adoption.
For the most current
information, check our Facebook page for your missing animal.
Please remember that the appearance of animals can change while they are
running loose (injuries, weight-loss, grooming issues, etc.) and that descriptions can be
subjective. If you think that a picture or description resembles your pet, please come to
the shelter and see the animal in person.
If you do not see your pet on Facebook, please fill out our
online Lost Pet Form. We also recommend that
you contact your local law enforcement, your veterinarian, your neighbors, WEKZ, and post
flyers. If you have lost a dog, we also recommend that you contact Lost Dogs of Wisconsin and/or
Lost Dogs of Illinois.
If you experience any technical difficulties with the GCHS website, please
contact Rachel Schardt at firstname.lastname@example.org.
